Chase Marriott Premier Visa 70,000 points & a free night & 1st year free

10/23/2011

[Update 11/2/12] The offer has expired.

[Original 10/23/2011] Chase Marriott Premier Visa has upped the signup offer from 50K to 70K and you still get one free night (at Cat 1-4 hotels) and 1st annual fee waived.  As you may have noticed, we haven't really talked much about hotel credit cards signup offers since generally hotel points are not as valuable as airline miles - they generally worth less than one cent a piece - of course with SPG (and Hyatt to a less degree) as exceptions.  Thus I feel that those 50K hotel points signup offers not the most appealing.  There have been targeted Marriott offers around (up to 80K) and this 70K offer is the 1st 50K+ offer available to public.  Will Chase make a even sweeter deal?  We don't know but if you are interested in signing up a couple of cards now, you may as well just add the Marriott card to your cart!

The landing page is here. (not working as of 12/3/2011)
The application page is here. (not showing bonus but still works)

[DEAD] Chase Southwest Airlines Plus Visa up to 100,000 points (50K each for personal and business) - 1st year NOT free

[All four offers expired]

Now Chase Southwest Airlines Plus Visa is offering 50K points (=$833 Wanna Get Away fare).  You may sign up both personal and business cards and get 100,000 points!  The Plus Card carries a $69 annual fee which is NOT waived and offers 3,000 anniversary bonus points (=$50 value), while the Premier Card carries a $99 annual fee but offers 6,000 anniversary bonus points (=$100 value) and tier point earning opportunity.  That is why in our review, we recommend the Premier Card over the Plus Card.  However, for the signup offer, the Plus Card is the better card to have since you pay $30 less for the 1st year.

[DEAD] New Citi AA 50K miles signup offers - the old 75K offers have expired

10/12/2011

[Update 3/15/2012] Looks like both offers were pulled.

[Update 11/3/2011]  Now there is a slightly better deal: 50K miles (after spending $2,500) + $150 Statement Credit after 1st AA purchase + two lounge passes + 1st year free.  Please visit the new landing page.

[Original Post 10/21/2011] The amazing 75K Citi AA offers (you have potential to hit a total of 225K AA miles if you sign up all three) have obviously expired.  They were supposed to expire long time ago but Citi did not pull the links off its website until recently.  If you missed the boat, now there are a around of new offers to earn up to 150K AA miles (50K each for Visa, Amex and Business).  All three offers can be found on the same landing page.

Each card offers 50K miles after $2,500 spending within 4 months, two Admiral Club day-passes, and a waiver of 1st annual fee ($85 for Visa and Amex and $75 for Business).  If you use two different browsers (clear the cookies first) for Visa and Amex and you also apply a Business card, you may very likely receive 150K AA miles.  Another interesting feature is that Citi finally enhance the AA cards with 2x bonus on American Airlines purchases, inline with all other major airline affiliate cards.

New reviews this week + updates on Continental Airlines and American Express

10/2/2011

This week, three reviews have been added to the site: BofA Asiana Amex, BofA Virgin Atlantic Black Card Amex, and Barclays Virgin America Visa.  The former two give you 2 miles per dollar spent - very unusual for miles/points cards.

Also this week we saw that Continental Airlines stopped to be an Amex Membership Rewards (MR) transfer partner, an Amex Platinum lounge program partner, and a Priority Pass Select partner.  This change, as we have been informing readers for months, has huge impacts on several credit/charge cards including all Amex cards that are associated with MR program and all cards that offer Priority Pass Select membership.  Long before Continental's departure, Amex has added several new features to its beloved Platinum Card and now Virgin America becomes a new partner of MR program (unfortunately the transfer ratio is 2:1 rather 1:1).  Please see our updates in the feature reviews: SPG vs. MR vs. UR and All About Airport Lounges for details.
