Amex has been running 75K signup promotions for its Business Gold Rewards Card, one of our Top Listers, for a long time and they have always been limited time offers (sometimes lasted only one day).  Earlier this year, Amex has been keeping a link for a similar offer for widely targeted customers.  You will need to visit the link below and log into your Amex account to see if you qualify for 75,000 points.  If you receive an error then you probably don't qualify.  You will need to spend $5,000 within 3 months of new account opening to receive 75,000 Membership Rewards points, which can be transferred to miles/points of Delta, Hawaiian, Air Canada, British, Singapore, Cathay Pacific, ANA, and many other airline or hotel partners.  As always, the $175 annual fee is waived for the first year.

Since the two free nights plus $100 credit offer has expired, Citi Hilton Reserve is now back to the regular two free nights at any Hilton worldwide hotel (excluding certain all-inclusive or Grand Vacations Club properties) offer, which is still pretty generous.  You will need to spend $2,500 within 4 months of the new account opening to receive two free weekend nights.  As always, the annual fee $95 is NOT waived for the first year.  The free night certificates expire after 12 months, and the non-participating properties can be found at HHonors.com/weekendcertificate.

First of all, this is the standard offer.  The best offer on Capital One Venture was 100,000 points but it was for limited time and very long time ago.

So you will receive 40,000 miles after spending $3,000 within 3 months of new account opening, and the $59 annual fee is waived for the first year.  Capital One miles are worth exactly 1 cent a piece in travel and can't be transferred to frequent traveler points/miles.  Also keep in mind that unlike other credit card issuers, Capital One pulls all three credit reporting agencies when you open a new account.

Chase limited time offers for Ink Business Cards - 60,000 points for Ink Plus and 30,000 points for Ink Cash

9/22/2015

Picture
 Chase has brought back limited time offers for its two Ink Business Cards.

  • Ink Plus: You need to spend $5,000 within 3 months of account opening to get the 60,000 points bonus and the first year annual fee is waived, saving $95.  Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) points earned through Ink Plus can be redeemed for travel at 1.25 cents per point and the signup bonus could be worth $750.  UR points can also be transferred to 10 airline/hotel partners' miles/points and your value may be even higher.  Our current value for UR points is 1.5 cents per point and the signup bonus means $900 in our book.
  • Ink Cash: You need to spend $3,000 within 3 months of account opening to receive $300 bonus and there is no annual fees.  Even though Ink Cash is branded as a cashback card, it actually earn UR points.  So you will receive 30,000 bonus UR points, which could be redeemed for $300 cash in your checking account.  However, if you have a premium UR card such as Ink Plus or Sapphire Preferred, all UR points can be pooled together and the signup points from Ink Cash can then be redeemed for travel at 1.25 cents per point or transferred to airline/hotel miles/points.  30K points will then be worth $375 or $450 in our book.

Chase Southwest Airlines Visa 50,000 points each (three cards, annual fees apply)

Chase has again brought back the 50,000 points signup offers for its Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Visa - there are three cards that offer the same signup bonus - personal Premier Visa, business Premier Visa, and personal Plus Visa.  You will need to spend $2,000 within 3 months upon account opending to get 50,000 points on each card.  Annual fees apply ($99 for Premier Visa and $69 for Plus Visa).  Like suggested before, it is getting harder, if not impossible to get two personal applications approved on the same day, and you will be better off with one personal and one business applications (for a total of 100K points) if you want to move toward the potentially very lucrative Southwest Companion Pass.

Chase British Airways Visa up to 100,000 points ($95 annual fee)

9/19/2015

Chase has brought back the 100K offer for its British Airways Visa:
  • You will get 50,000 bonus Avios after $2,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening;
  • 25,000 bonus Avios after $10,000 in purchases within the first year of account opening;
  • Plus an additional 25,000 bonus Avios after you make an additional $10,000 in purchases also within the first year of account opening.

So a total of 120K Avios after spending $20K within a year (100K through this offer and 20K through spending), or a total of 85K Avios after spending $10K within a year (75K through this offer and 10K through spending), much like the previous offers.  However, note that the $95 annual fee is NOT waived for the first year through this offer, while it is waived through the regular 50K offer.  So if you are not planning to spend at least $10K within the first year, you'd better sign up through the regular 50K offer which is located on the Chase website.
