Today's biggest news is the launch of the new Club Carlson Visa and three great offers.  See our review on these three cards.
  • Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa (personal): 85,000 points at sign-up (50K after the 1st use and an additional 35K after spending $2,500 within 3 months), 40,000 points each year you renew the card, free Club Carlson Gold status as long as you have the card, 5x points everywhere - all comes with a $75 annual fee.
  • Club Carlson Business Rewards Visa: exactly the same bonus and features as the Premier Visa but with a smaller annual fee $60.
  • Club Carlson Rewards Visa (personal): 60,000 points at sign-up (50K after the 1st use and an additional 10K after spending $1,500 within 3 months), 25,000 points each year you renew the card, free Club Carlson Silver status as long as you have the card, 3x points everywhere - all comes with a $50 annual fee.
Whether you will be able to get a grand total of 230,000 points when you sign up all three cards remains to be seen.  However, we think the chance of getting 170,000 points by signing up both Premier Visa and Business Visa is pretty big based on past experience with other banks.

Chase AirTran A+ Rewards Visa is a new card which we have reviewed.  It is interesting that this came out before AirTran will be fully integrated into Southwest.  So it is an offer that won't last, since once two programs finally combines this card will be no more.  Grab it while it lasts!

Spend $2,000 within 3 months, and you will earn 32 credits, i.e. two roundtrip tickets on AirTran Airways or Southwest Airlines.  As icing on the cake, You also get two business class upgrades on AirTran after the 1st use.

Finally we have found links that are working.  We blogged about Southwest Plus Visa ($69 annual fee) up to 100K points offers.  This time similar offers are available for its Premier Visa ($99 annual fee): spend $2,000 within 3 months, you will get 50,000 points (=$833 Wanna Get Away fare).  Sign up both personal and business versions, you will get 100,000 points.

The greatest thing is if you combine these with Plus Visa, you have a potential to hit a grand total of 200,000 points!  I will still suggest use four different browsers on the same day.

[GONE] Chase British Airways new 100,000 points offer (annual fee $95)

12/2/2012

Chase has offered various 100K offers for its British Airways Visa Signature in the past.  This is the newest incarnation (through 2/27/2013).  As the last one, the spending requirement is pretty steep.  Earn 50,000 points after spending $1,000 within 3 months; earn an additional 25,000 points after spending $10,000 within the 1st year; earn an additional 25,000 points after spending an additional $10,000 within the 1st year.  So you need to spend a total of $20K to get the full 100K points.  As always, the $95 annual fee is NOT waived for the 1st year.

Updated Citi American Airlines cards up to 150,000 miles (annual fee $95)

Since we have seen some old links expired, it is time to make an update.

Looks like Citi has once again raised the spending requirement on getting signup bonuses on these cards.  You need to spend $2,000 to get 40,000 miles and additional $3,000 to get the last 10,000 miles.  So total spending is $5,000 within 4 months of card opening.  You also get 2 Admirals Club passes and $100 credit for the 1st eligible AA purchase within 12 months.  As before, the trick is to sign up all three cards on the same days using three different browsers and you may get 150,000 miles.

I have found the old Business Visa 50K link still alive.  It is slightly better than the current offer: you only need to spend $3,000 within 4 months to get the full 50K miles; in addition, you also get 2 Admirals Club passes and $150 credit for the 1st eligible AA purchase within 12 months.

This new offer is for CitiBusiness ThankYou card which carries no annual fee.  Earn 25,000 points after you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months, and an additional 25,000 points after you spend $3,000 within the next 3 months.  So in order to get the total 50K you need to spend $6,000.  The page says it ends 12/20/2012 and we shall see if the application page will be kept alive past that time.

For comparison, Citi ThankYou Premier has constantly offered 50K per card, meaning you may rack up 100K points by signing up both Visa and MasterCard versions.  On one occasion, the $125 annual fee is waived for the first year.  Citi ThankYou Preferred which carries no annual fee, offered 50K bonus only once in the past.
