I feel like the CSR has really dropped a few notches due to the fee increase and not keeping up with the newcomers, but on the other hand, C1X has no bonus categories and no 1.5x multiplier for airfare.

Miles, thanks for the note! CSR has been struggling with keeping up with competitions, even with new 10-5-3-1 earning structure. I am treating 5x airfare through Capital One Travel or UR or Amex Travel as an effective bonus category, as other than a few exceptions such as Southwest, the prices are usually the same as when booking with airlines directly and you do receive miles and status recognition. More hassles for sure, but I am willing to do that for 5x.

Fair enough. Wish the C1X had some kind of redemption multiplier like the CSR or Altitude Reserve. Although the Altitude Reserve is now losing the GoGo passes, and AA is redoing elite qualification.. guess I have to sit down and run some numbers. 11/16/2021 03:45:49 pm
I have just updated the "Best Rewards Credit Card Combos" section on the "Points" page, where I discussed pairing Venture X with the non-fee SavorOne. Using the case study I outlined in that section, the extra annual rewards over Venture X may not be worth having another card, but if the annual spending in dining & groceries is huge, then the duo is worth considering.
