Chase has launched a campaigns for its popular Sapphire Preferred: you will earn 3x points on dining on the first Fridays of each months through this year. Mark the dates: May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6, 2013.
Normally Sapphire Preferred earns 2x points on dining so that is one additional point per dollar spent you will earn on these Fridays. Even though the campaign is named "First Friday Favorites" and is somehow connected to OpenTable, there is absolutely nothing you need to do to get bonus points other than using your Sapphire Preferred. No enrollment, no reservation through OpenTable, and bonus points will be yours as long as the restaurants (including fast foods) are coded correctly in MasterCard/Visa's system. In other words, if you are getting 2x bonus points in a certain restaurant, you will get 3x on these Fridays.
